Pharmacist and director of the wholesaler Sigma Pharmaceuticals Plc Bharat Shah has been honoured in the Queen's Birthday List 2019.
Mr Shah will be made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for ‘services to business, economic growth, exporting, the independent pharmacy sector and philanthropy', it was announced today (10 June).
After graduating with a first class degree in pharmacy from the University of Bath, Mr Shah opened his first pharmacy in 1975, moving into wholesaling a few years later.
Mr Shah said 'I am truly humbled by this honour and have been left completely speechless.
'It is beyond anything that I could have imagined and I hope I can live up to this high accolade bestowed upon me.'
