Today the British royal family paid thanks to pharmacists and pharmacies around the world in appreciation of the work they have been doing throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a tweet, the royal family said: ‘This #ThankfulThursday, we are paying tribute to pharmacists and pharmacies everywhere, who are working tirelessly to keep people healthy and safe, whilst under huge pressure.’

‘To all the pharmacies that are relied on by their local communities - thank you!’

The family made sure to thank all parts of the sector: ‘Whether you are working in community or hospital pharmacy, or helping pharmacies in another way, we say a huge thank you.’

The tweet made special reference to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, for their ‘instrumental’ role played during the pandemic, including their ‘clinical guidance’ and ‘wellbeing advice’ provided to those on the frontline.

Every Thursday, the royal family thanks and celebrates a different essential public service workers who are keeping the nation going during the crisis, as part of #ThankfulThursday series.
