Sanofi has recalled specific batches of Epilim 500mg gastro-resistant tablets.
The manufacturer is recalling the batches as a precaution, after it found ‘out of specification results for disintegration’ when carrying out routine tests.
The batches affected are 30-tablet packs of R0601, R0602, and R0603, with an August 2022 expiry date.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said in a drug alert that pharmacy teams should stop supplying the batches ‘immediately’.
All stock should be quarantined, the MHRA said, and the affected batches should be returned by pharmacies to their supplier using the approved process.
