Orders of lateral flow tests kits from the Government website have been limited to one pack per person every three days as the Government begins to wind down access to free testing. 

Service users on Twitter have reported that the UK Government’s ordering website appeared to have changed today (21 February) to impose the new ordering limits.  

Until today, people have been able to order a kit containing seven days’ worth of tests every 24 hours online or from pharmacies.  

A press conference is said to be planned for later today to formally announce the changes being made under a ‘Living with Covid’ plan.

Those who have ordered a test kit online within three days are now being met with the message: ‘You have ordered a test within the last 72 hours. You can only place one order in a 72 hour period. 

‘You need to wait before you can order again. If we have made a mistake, you can call the contact centre.’ 

The UK Health Security agency has been asked for comment.  

In December, The government temporarily suspended the online orders of home lateral flow test kits, after ‘high demand’ on its website, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has said. 

Patients were directed to pharmacies, community sites and some schools and colleges to collect a kit.
