Community Pharmacy England (CPE) is recruiting a new independent chair to work three to four days a month providing strategic leadership and oversight of its committee.
It comes as current chair Sue Killen is due to complete her term of office later this year.
The role is remunerated at £50,000 for a time commitment of three to four days per calendar month.
CPE said a successful candidate would be joining at a time of ‘significant challenge and opportunity’ as the body looks to establish a ‘new plan’ for community pharmacy in line with the government’s upcoming 10-Year Health Plan.
The role involves steering the committee’s work as the governing body and engaging with external stakeholders.
‘The chair will facilitate discussions, promote collaboration, and ensure that the organisation remains committed to its mission to support and advocate for community pharmacy,’ CPE said.
It added that the ideal candidate would have ‘substantial experience of chairing boards or advisory bodies, particularly in complex environments’, as well as ‘a strong understanding of governance best practice, how government and the health system operates, and a strategic mindset’.
The closing date for applications is 12pm Friday 2 May 2025.
